06 September 2016 - Joint Land Registry and Cadastre Information System presented in Split

Minister of Construction and Physical Planning Lovro Kuščević presented today at the Regional Cadastral Office Split, Bihaćka 1, the Joint Land Registry and Cadastre Information System (ZIS), which has been fully established in that regional cadastral office.

The Regional Cadastral Office in Split has five departments for real property cadastre and eight branch offices for real property cadastre, in all of which ZIS was introduced in the period between 18 April and 9 May 2016. The last regional cadastral offices to be included in the ZIS system were those in Vukovar and Pula, whereas transition to the system is under way for the Zagreb City Office for Cadastre, which due to its complexity has been left for the final stage of this project. For this regional cadastral office all the necessary infrastructure has been developed, data migration has been carried out, and the system is expected to be fully completed by 15 September.

During 2016 Regional Cadastral Offices in Karlovac, Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Split, Rijeka, Pula and Vukovar were included in the system.

The development of the Joint Land Registry and Cadastre Information System, or rather the establishment of a unified cadastre and land registry data base and of a unified application for the management and maintenance of the said data is one of the key goals of the «Organized Land» national programme for regulating land registries and the cadastre.  The benefits of the said system are numerous:  the time needed to access the data and make a registration will be significantly reduced and the citizens will be able to see at one place the ownership structure of a real property and its location in space as well as numerous other functionalities. This system is, therefore, one of the key instruments in the development of e-Croatia and entrepreneurship development as well as for securing public trust in respect of the registers. Furthermore, the system raises the level of legal security of real property transactions, as once harmonised data from both systems can no longer differ. Thereby the relationship with users as well as the speed and quality of provided services have been improved.
