6 February 2017 (Hina) - EUR 16 mln fast road section in north Croatia inaugurated
Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Monday opened a 6.4-kilomtre-long section of the fast road Zlatar Bistrica - Andrasevec, worth HRK 120 million, saying that the new road would improve the road connections in the Hrvatsko Zagorje region.
After the completion of all construction phases, the fast road will connect Zlatar and Marija Bistrica with Zabok.
"This fast road will mean a lot for local population, but it will also help those travelling to the Marija Bistrica Shrine. The continuation of the construction of the fast road to Popovec would facilitate traffic in this region and better connect the A4 highway leading from Hungary to Zagreb, and Varazdin with the Macelj-bound road. It is a step forward in the enhancement of Croatia's road infrastructure," Plenkovic said.
Also present at the inauguration were Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butkovic and Construction and Zoning Minister Lovro Kuscevic.
Minister Butkovic said that the Hrvatske Ceste road operator in 2016 invested HRK 160 million or 20% of its total investments in roads in Krapina-Zagorje County.
